Punjab State Election commission officials will conduct the Punjab Panchayats Election 2018, the last panchayats election in Punjab was held in 2018. General Gram Panchayats Election in Punjab will be held by the SEC Punjab for the election for the posts Members of Zila Parishads, Members of Panchayats Samiti & Members of  Gram Panchayats. Delimitation & Reservation of wards for Panchayats Election 2018

State election commission has ordered the local level officials to start the process of General Gram Panchayats Election 2018 in Punjab. Local level officials of Election commission have to prepare the new Gram Panchayats for on the basis of population. Extension of wards delimitation on the basis of 2011 census. District Development and Panchayats Officers  (DDPOs)  & Block Development & Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) department of Government of Punjab will have to prepare the delimitation of Wards on the basis population in the area and formation of new Gram Panchayats. Government of Punjab will have to prepare the reservation of seats & wards for the General Gram Panchayats election 2018. State Election commission of Punjab will announce the official notification of General Gram Panchayats Elections 2018 in Punjab on the official website of SEC Punjab. As the SEC Punjab will announce the election notification , Model Code of Conduct will be implemented in the election conducting area and will last till the completion of Panchayats Polls in Punjab. Punjab passes bill to reserve 50% seats for women in Panchayati Raj Institutions

The women reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions increased from 33% to 50%. Women reservation quota in the direct elections for gram panchayats, Panchayat samitis and Zila Parishads  enhanced accordingly.
